starbucks launches digital network - on location only

Starbucks, in partnership with Yahoo!, started an in-store digital network service; free of charge. Which means, now when you're at Starbucks, you'll get free access to several premium services including WSJ.com and New York Times Reader. There will be specials on iTunes where Starbucks-goers will be able to download free media. Now all one has to do is join the free Wi-Fi network at Starbucks. And finally, the service is HTML5 based which makes it compatible with all devices including Apple's iOS devices.

As we live in an age where people carry around more internet-capable devices by day, this will absolutely make Starbucks stronger. I think this incentive is going to help push the tablet market further as people would be more willing to use them to check out the latest headlines on the New York Times, while sipping on their latte.
